The heavy metal pallets, often weighing more than 100 kg, are usually manipulated empty in a horizontal position to the place of use and back to the storage. A forklift is typically used for this kind of manipulation. These pallets are usually stacked on the top of each other and there is a high risk of falling when stacking inaccurately, and this also increases the risk of injury.
This situation can be solved by using the extension for handling trolleys WL 1000, which has these functions:
- loading and unloading of a pallet in the place of use – the extension is equipped with the fork loading and unloading device controlled by a hydraulic cylinder;
- transport to different places;
- storage of pallets for a further usage – pallets are stored vertically using trolley wheels and they move very easily on the hanging supporting storage rails thanks to the minimal rolling friction between the trolley wheel and the pallet. The trolley wheel usually contains a rolling ball bearing;
Due to the pallets being stored vertically, it is possible and safe enough to transport up to 9 pallets at the same time. Unlike the assembly created by a forklift, where there is a transporting pallet placed on the fork, the trolley WL100 with the extension takes up less than 50% of the floor plan area and therefore, it requires a minimal free space for manipulation in the production environment. Moreover, it is possible to store the loaded pallets on a manipulation trolley near the place of use, ready for immediate use in a short time.
The customized pallets and the extensions for their loading, transport and vertical storage are subjected to the industrial legal protection.
